Why This Site Exists
Utah publishes many jail, court, and corrections records through official systems, but those systems are split. County sheriffs handle local jail rosters for new arrests and pretrial custody. The Utah Department of Corrections handles sentenced state prisoners, parole, probation, community correctional centers, and state inmates housed in county jails. Utah Courts handles case records after arrest. Federal and immigration custody use BOP and ICE. Utah Inmate Population is the statewide umbrella that helps sort those paths.
